UAAP Season 73 | Game Review: UE Red Warriors vs FEU Tamaraws | Round 1
There is a reason to restrained our pessimism regarding the Red Warriors’ defeat over the FEU Tamaraws.
First, Coach Chongson’s 10 man rotation was effective, better distribution of offensive and keen defensive assignments;
Second, the Red Warriors’ big men are slowly showing some fury. Erwin Duran with 10 points and Sam Razon with 7 rebounds, this is a good development especially that only Ken Acibar has been consistent in the past 3 games. Even though, the Red Warriors loss the battle in the boards over a more experience Tamaraws, the figure is far better than the UE and DLSU game.
Third, a much better teamwork was seen, Paul Lee got the necessary help he needed in the offensive department. Ken Acibar contributed 16 points, while the bench contributed 29 points. But of course, Paul Lee’s offensive mayhelm still continues with a career high of 27 points with 9 rebounds, and 4 assists.
Lastly, maybe we still haven’t seen a James Martinez’s game. The Red Warriors’ really misses his offensive arsenal over the past 3 games. And, yeah, we loss again for the 3rd time, but what we have seen on that Battle of the East game is hope. That the Red Warriors are really hungry to get in the winning track very much too soon.
