UAAP Season 73 | Game Preview: UE Red Warriors vs ADMU Blue Eagles | Round 1

Rematch prattle: Last year’s finalists. The usual battle of the Reds and Blues. As if this is all about redemption for the UE Red Warriors and showing dominance for the ADMU Blue Eagles. Two teams will collide in the main header of season 73’s 1st round conclusion at the PhilSports Arena, this coming August 8, 2010.

Looking Back: After another agonizing loss from Adu Falcons, the UE Red Warriors aims to give justice on their miserable win-loss record of ending the 1st round elimination with a big win against the Blue Eagles. This match as we know is also the time to redeem last year’s finals game three lost. Both teams had lost veteran line-ups, but only ADMU so far has adjusted and solved to this hindrence. For the Red Warriors its pure setbacks, why they rank 7 in team standings after their game against AdU Falcons.

Moving Forward: Honestly, all the Red Warriors matches going back to their game over FEU were good, the problem is that they only snatched a win over UP. The Red Warriors’ problem is they can’t get their offensive rhythm in the early part of regulation. Its becoming a habit for them to rally in the 4th quarter and eventually falling short. Paul Lee has been heavily guarded throughout the games and that’s should be view as an advantage rather than a problem. Lordy Casajeros has shown important moment and should be given a keen role more often than to those veteran guards Tagarda and Reyes. Regarding the frontline, only Ken Acibar is what keeping them alive inside the paint, for the rest nothing has improved.

Prediction: A win against the Blue Eagles would be great. In order for the Red Warriors to do this. They have to limit the big men of ADMU inside the paint, making the game into a run-and-gun would be great for them also. I hope Paul Lee would get in his usual self and led the team in scoring. But overall this match will be the toughest for the Red Warriors this season.

• REFLECTING ON IT •

Keep in mind the difference between a winner's and a loser's mentality. Winners focus on winning big—not just how to win, but how to win big. Losers, however, don't focus on losing; they just focus on getting by!

• FLESHING IT OUT •

Each Warrior wants to leave the mark of his will, his signature, on important acts he touches. This is not the voice of ego but of the human spirit, raising up and declaring that it has something to contribute to the solution of the hardest problems, no matter how vexing!
