Former Chief Warrior James Yap bags his 2nd PBA MVP title

james_yap

James Carlos Yap accepted his 2nd Most Valuable Player (MVP) award in the annual Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Leo Awards last August 11 at the Araneta Coliseum. The former UE Red Warrior, who played all his 6 years in the professional league with the San Miguel Corp. franchise’s Purefoods and B-Meg Derby Ace, earned his much deserved individual award after all that has happened in his public and private life throughout the 35th season of the PBA.

James Yap, who topped other contenders for the MVP title like Arwind Santos, LA Tenorio, Sonny Thoss, and Jay Washington, became emotional in his acceptance speech when he dedicated the award to his son, Baby James.

From your UEnian family, congratulation Former Chief Red Warrior James “King” Yap!

• REFLECTING ON IT •

Keep in mind the difference between a winner's and a loser's mentality. Winners focus on winning big—not just how to win, but how to win big. Losers, however, don't focus on losing; they just focus on getting by!

• FLESHING IT OUT •

Each Warrior wants to leave the mark of his will, his signature, on important acts he touches. This is not the voice of ego but of the human spirit, raising up and declaring that it has something to contribute to the solution of the hardest problems, no matter how vexing!
