Game Preview: UE Red Warriors vs UST Growling Tigers

UAAP Season 73 | Game Preview: UE Red Warriors vs UST Growling Tigers | Round 2

The University of the East Red Warriors’ 1st round games come thick and fast. 6 losses and a solitary win. That’s the outcome after 7 intense battle against the toughest teams in the league. And, tomorrow (August 12) it’s the start of the Red Warriors campaign for the 7 more remaining games of the season. The Red Warriors will face off against the UST Growling Tigers at the Araneta Coliseum in their rematch of that game stunner UST has brought to the struggling UE last July 11.

The Red Warriors find themselves in unfamiliar territory this season, they have to sweep the 2nd round in able to sneak into the 4th spot of team standings and enters the Final 4. But if they can’t accomplish this almost impossible task, then it’s a doomday situation for us, because after of more than a decade appearance in the Final 4, we’ll have to kiss good bye on our chance to retain that elusive crown this season.

Looking Back: Almost every game of the Red Warriors in the 1st round were meant to be heartbreak moments and an aura of discontent. Last August 8, we almost have that 2nd win, but in the final canto an Eric Salamat led Blue Eagles snatched it away from us. During the game proper Coach Lawrence Chongson was quoted that,

“It’s not on the script..”

This was his reaction on his team struggling performances in their last 6 games. And, we have to agree to that statement, the Red Warriors were always came short in almost all their games and on that ADMU game was not excluded.

Moving Forward: Even with that disappointing loss, the 9 men-rotation of Coach Chongson were impressive. Paul Lee is on his usual self, Ken Acibar is always consistent on his performances. The other guards are also exemplary, and Sam Razon is a welcome development. And, if they continue to play like what they did against ADMU, may be the Red Warriors can finish the 2nd round elimination in a much fair and acceptable standing.

Prediction: For the 2nd time this season the Red Warriors will have to go against the Growling Tigers, but this time it is a different ball game. We hope that our coaching staff were done scouting them and willfully take the advantage of their playing system. Perimeter shooting is what kept the Growling Tigers dangerous this season, the bread and butter of Coach Jarencio’s team, if the Red Warriors make the necessary adjustment with UST’s quick line-up, then make this game our venue for redemption. In this game will also be a venue for Paul Lee to redeem his miserable game on them last July 11. Our frontline can now fully exploit the paint as what they have shown in their latter performances. And, may the Red Warriors guard line-up be ready if a shootfest happens. Overall, this is an exciting match for us and a starting boost for the Red Warriors that will go against FEU on sunday, August 15.

Presents of Lucas Tagarda needs in This game , his performance vs ADMU was Great , even doe he only have 3 points in that game , his playful ability of Rebounding has gonna give the Warriors to have Second Chance points , assisting it on Sam Razon or Ken Acibar who have improve his perimeter shooting will result for a great play , the defensive play of Razon and Rosopa will gonna give them foul-counted plays then a follow up of Free throw/s that will add 3 point/s Every ball possession of the game play , adding the big points for the total score is Paul Lee Which is on the second place for the partial MVP Candidates … perimeter Shoot From Ervin Duran … A Win For every game is not too far from us …

AMUYIN ANG LARO NG BAWAT ISA , ANO ANG LABAN NG ISANG BOLA PARA SA TIGDADALAWANG MATA , KUNG PEDE LANG LAG-LAGAY NG PAKO ANG KAMAY AT IMARTILYO KASABAY NG BOLA , BAKIT HINDI , hindi natin kailangan ng turnovers , hirap na hirap mag habol ang Warriros pag nalamangan , every foul of us to our opponent team counts us additional point to them by the us of free throws , tayo … hinahayan nating saktan tayo ng kalaban ng hundi ito pinaglalabat sa pamamagitan ng free throws , player sila players din naman ang Warriors … we must improve the Game Play Strategies both offensively and defense !

100 Percent Warrior

Keep in mind the difference between a winner's and a loser's mentality. Winners focus on winning big—not just how to win, but how to win big. Losers, however, don't focus on losing; they just focus on getting by!

Each Warrior wants to leave the mark of his will, his signature, on important acts he touches. This is not the voice of ego but of the human spirit, raising up and declaring that it has something to contribute to the solution of the hardest problems, no matter how vexing!
