UAAP Season 73 | Game Preview: UE Red Warriors vs ADMU Blue Eagles | Round 2
After an important win over the AdU Soaring Falcons last August 21, the University of the East Red Warriors will face a more tougher task, as they will go against a ADMU squad who had just recently obliterates the defenseless DLSU Green Archers.
Going into the match, the UE Red Warriors will be well aware of a slight chance to clinch the final ticket into the Final 4 when they beat ADMU this coming August 26 at the Araneta Coliseum, but they have to be aware also of their dismal record against the Blue Eagles. Since season 71, the Red Warriors only managed to snatch a single win on them. The Red Warriors have had a lot of topsy-turvy time when going against ADMU, just like what happened in the 1st round of elimination, when we have the upperhand of the game and in a blink of an eye they snatched it on us. The boys in Red certainly have a big problem on dealing against ADMU’s offensive onslaught.
In this game, the Red Warriors are certainly in need of an extra bigman, with Samuel Razon’s injury and an inconsistent performances of Ezer Rosopa, Coach Lawrence Chongson need to look on some possible plays to contain ADMU’s bigmen especially Golla, Chua, and Escueta. The athletic Ken Acibar must be really ready to ADMU’s tough defense on him, so hope for the best help on the remaining bigmen.
Regarding our backcourt, the UE’s backcourt should remain unchanged the 3-guard combination really proved benificial against a much bigger team, but it will be interesting to see if Coach Lawrence Chongson slightly change the players in the 3-guard combination to match against ADMU’s Eric Salamat, Kirk Long, and Eman Monfort. Obviously, these 3 Blue Eagles are the main gunners of ADMU, destroy their offensive rythm and we have a bigger chance of getting our 4th win this season.
