UAAP Season 73 | Game Preview: UE Red Warriors vs DLSU Green Archers | Round 2
Bowing out on chance for a 9th straight Final Four’s berth after a solitary point seperation against NU last August was heavy to accept by the community, but we have to admit that our season’s meltdown can come any moment especially with an ugly 1st round campaign and eventually ended our fate on other teams outcome. Many disappointed fans said that it may have affected the Red Warriors game when the Green Archers defeat the Tamaraws. For me it’s purely witless and silly for making excuses on a horrible 3rd quarter spirit the Red Warriors had shown to us, that that 3rd quarter was the epitome of our shortcomings the whole season.
Yes, before losing against NU, the DLSU Green Archers are just a game away to clinch the last spot in the semi-finals after a huge win against FEU and their win against UST last thursday offically set the Final Four casts of season 73.
Anyway, this coming September 4 we are schedule to fight against the DLSU Greens Archers, not for a spot in the Final Four, but for our pride and honor. The Red Warriors can still play spoiler role and prevent them to get a twice-to-beat advantage.
In this game, we hope that Coach Lawrence Chongson gives more playing time on our rookies and sophomores, to get the feel of battling against a crowd darling just like DLSU, so that they’ll not get intimidated when they’ll take over the line up next season.
Regarding on our veterans, especially the remaining “Dindo boys” on the UE line up like Paul Lee, James Martinez, Raffy Reyes, Lucas Tagarda, JM Noble, and Paul Zamar. This game is the perfect venue to show their former mentor and current DLSU coach Dindo Pumaren what they have learned from him by beating the DLSU big time!
